Privacy policy

Historidex. Last updated October 26, 2026.

The short version

Historidex has no accounts, no ads and no tracking. We do not collect your name, email or anything that identifies you. If you buy Historidex Pro, the purchase is handled by Apple or Google and confirmed through a service called RevenueCat, described below.

What stays on your device

The stories you save, the stories you've seen, your year-quiz score and your daily streak are stored only on your device. We never receive them. Deleting the app deletes them.

Purchases

Historidex Pro is a subscription sold through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google takes your payment and we never see your card or account details. To unlock Pro, the app asks RevenueCat, a subscription service, whether your purchase is active. RevenueCat receives a random identifier created for the app on your device, your purchase and subscription status, and technical data such as your IP address and device type. It uses this to run subscriptions for us and does not use it to track you across other apps. You can read its privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Reminders

If you turn on the daily reminder, it is scheduled by your phone as a local notification. Nothing about it is sent to us. You can turn it off in the app's Profile screen or in your phone's settings.

Loading stories

Stories and photos load from our web host, Vercel. Like any web server, it keeps standard request logs, such as IP address, device type and time of request, for a limited time to run and secure the service. We don't use them to identify, profile or track anyone, and we don't sell or share them.

Links to sources

Each story links to its source, usually a museum, library or archive. Those sites have their own privacy policies.

Children

Historidex is a general-audience app and doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
